Southern All-Stars will host an outdoor softball camp at no cost for new and experienced players ages 12 and under on Saturday, June 15th from 12-3pm. The camp will entail pitching, catching, fielding, hitting, base running, conditioning and general nutrition. More information will be sent out over the next few weeks. Free Softball Conditioning Nights
Date | Thursday Nights in June (6-7pm)

Southern All-Stars will soon begin our Summer Softball Conditioning program on Thursday nights in June from 6-7pm.

For those not familiar, it's simply a 1-hour conditioning at the cages and partially held outside when the weather allows. The summer camp consists of general exercises including stretches, planks, sit-ups, jumping jacks, jump rope, running, light weights and of course a competition with prizes at the end (I usually ask each player bring $2 to put in the competition prize pot). This is a great way to prep for JR High and fall travel season in terms of conditioning. Players are able to meet other players from other towns and travel teams, it's a great way to make new friends. There is no cost for the conditioning course. Lessons are offered on Thursdays so players may book lessons that day to maximize the trip. Typical class size is 8-12 players but we have had 25 at our peak in the past. Classes will likely be cut off to accomdate only 12 for now.

Softball Camp | Introduction to Pitching
Date | Saturday, June 22 (8:30-10am)

Southern All-Stars will host an Intro Pitching Camp for beginning pitchers this summer working on pitching skills and drills. Pitchers will be introduced to the importance of a good warm up routine, conditioning basics, overview of proper mechanics, a concentrated focus on accuracy and important pitching concepts along with pitching tools and drills. Camp attendees will be introduced to the fastball, change up and screwball pitches in addition to understanding the “do’s and don’ts” of each pitch during a game.

Softball Camp | Catching Camp
Date | Saturday, June 29 (8:30-10am)

Southern All-Stars will host a catching camp this summer working on catching skills and drills. Catchers will be introduced to signs, setting up for different pitches, framing, blocking, and steals.

Softball Camp | JR High & Travel Softball Tryout Prep
Date | Thursday Nights in July (6-7pm)
Cost | $35/night or $100 total

JR High ball is coming up so be sure you have your softball skills (mentally and physically) ready before tryouts! We will focus on season expectations, hitting, fielding, pitching, catching, comprehension of the game, how to speak to the coach, conditioning, what to wear (and not to wear), equipment check, your attitude and much more!

Softball Camp | Advanced Pitching
Date | Saturday, July 6 (8:30-10am)
Cost | $40 (3+ camps for $90)

Southern All-Stars will host an advanced Pitching Camp for advanced pitchers this July working on advanced pitching skills and drills. Pitchers will fine tune their warm up routine, learn / practice the fast ball, change up, screw ball, curve and drop ball along with being introduced to pitching tools and drills. Camp attendees will also be tested in game scenarios dependent on the batter, count and other game specific scenarios.

Softball Camp | Hitting
Date | Saturday, July 13 (8:30-10am)
Cost | $40 (3+ camps for $90)

Players will work on hitting basics including bat selection / sizing, understanding your count / signs, proper stance, plate awareness, load, stride, proper rotation, contact vs power, getting through to extension and ball placement. The camp will also include tee work, hitting on pitching machines in an indoor environment.

Softball Camp | Fielding (Infield / Outfield)
Date | Saturday, July 20 (8:30-10am)

Fielders will be introduced to a stretching and throwing routine, throwing grip, throwing mechanics, footwork, reading batters, team competitions, working on fielding skills and drills, and individual competitions.
